Renault Introduce Two New SUVs and an Electric Hatchback in India

Alongside the eagerly awaited next-gen Duster, Renault is set to launch the Kwid electric hatchback in India.

Renault recently completed two consecutive product launches, introducing mid-life facelifts for the Kiger and Triber. With a refreshed lineup in place, the company is now gearing up for its next move in the Indian market, with three new cars on the horizon. Alongside two new SUVs, Renault is also developing an electric hatchback, which was recently spotted undergoing testing. Here’s a closer look at the upcoming Renault models set to launch in India.

1. All-New Renault Duster

The next-generation Renault Duster is slated to launch in India in early 2026. One of the most eagerly awaited SUVs in the country, it is currently undergoing road tests. Featuring a rugged stance, the design will largely follow the global-spec model, with a few expected minor updates for the Indian market.

Built on the CMF-B platform, the new Duster will initially be offered as a petrol-only model, with a hybrid variant expected to arrive later. Powering the SUV will be a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine, producing 154 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque.

2. Renault Boreal 7-Seater SUV

Alongside the Duster, Renault is developing a new 7-seater SUV, expected to launch in the second half of 2026. The three-row SUV was spotted testing in India in July and is likely to be called the Boreal, though the name is yet to be confirmed. It will be built on the CMF-B platform, shared with the Duster.

The Boreal will be longer than its 5-seater counterpart, featuring an extended wheelbase. It is expected to offer the 154 bhp 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine, while the 155 bhp 1.6-litre petrol strong hybrid available in international markets is also being considered.

3. Renault Kwid EV

Rumors about the launch of the Kwid EV in India have been circulating for quite some time. Recent spy shots suggest that the electric hatchback’s debut could be imminent, though the exact timeline remains unconfirmed. While the test mule was heavily camouflaged, the design appears largely similar to the ICE Kwid, with a few subtle updates.

According to reports, the India-spec Kwid EV may be based on the Dacia Spring EV available in international markets. If so, it is expected to feature a 26.8 kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of 225 kilometres on a single charge.
