Top 5 Cars That Found No Buyers in September 2025 – Includes Models from Maruti Suzuki, Kia, Citroen, and Nissan

While India’s automotive market is witnessing steady growth, some models continue to struggle in finding buyers. These low-selling cars often become a burden for both manufacturers and dealers. In this article, we take a look at five cars that failed to attract even a single buyer in the Indian market last month.

1. Kia EV6

Kia India introduced the EV6 facelift in March 2025, priced at ₹65.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric SUV is imported to India via the CBU route. However, despite offering attractive discounts, Kia couldn’t find a single buyer for the EV6 in September 2025. Positioned in a niche premium EV segment, the EV6 faces tough competition from multiple brands. Its high price tag and the availability of only a single AWD variant further limit its appeal among buyers. Top 5 Car

2. Kia EV9

Kia introduced the EV9 in India in October 2024 at a starting price of ₹1.30 crore (ex-showroom). Similar to the EV6, the brand’s flagship electric SUV is imported as a CBU, resulting in higher taxes and pricing. Positioned in a niche premium segment dominated by mainstream luxury brands, the EV9 failed to attract any buyers in September 2025. Powered by a 99.9 kWh battery pack, it offers a claimed driving range of 561 km on a single charge.

3. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz

Maruti Suzuki discontinued the Ciaz in April 2025, with production ending a month earlier in March. Although the sedan continued to register minimal sales for a while due to leftover inventory at dealerships and stockyards, it recorded zero sales in September 2025. Originally launched in 2014 and updated with a facelift in 2018, the Ciaz was discontinued as shrinking demand for sedans and declining sales made it unviable for the Indian market.

4. Nissan X-Trail

Nissan launched the X-Trail in India in August 2024, priced at ₹49.92 lakh (ex-showroom). Its steep pricing limited customer interest, resulting in sluggish demand. Imported as a CBU with just 150 units brought into the country, the X-Trail recorded zero sales in September 2025. Earlier this year, a few units were spotted at premium used car dealerships offering discounts of over ₹20 lakh.

5. Citroen C5 Aircross

Citroen introduced the C5 Aircross in India in April 2021. As a relatively new brand with a limited sales and service network, the SUV struggled to attract mid-size SUV buyers. Its modest feature list and tough competition from popular models like the Hyundai Creta further hurt its demand. In September 2025, the C5 Aircross recorded zero sales in the Indian market.
