Tata Motors’ passenger sales reached an all-time high in September 2025, led by the Nexon, with over 22,500 units sold.
Tata Nexon, Tata Motors closed the month of September on a record high. Total sales for the company reached 60,907 units, while domestic sales reached 59,667 units. This is a 47% increase from the same period last year. This was driven by a combination of GST 2.0 rate reductions and increased demand during the festive season.
Tata Passenger vehicle
Tata has recorded its highest-ever monthly passenger vehicle sales, including electric cars. This growth wasn’t limited to a single category. Sales of the company’s green models broke records, and electric vehicle sales nearly doubled to 9,191 units, a 96 percent increase over last year.
Sales of its CNG vehicles surpassed 17,800 units, more than double the level in the second quarter of FY2025. Among models, the Nexon emerged as the star performer with sales of over 22,500 units across India last month. This SUV has recorded the highest monthly sales of any Tata Motors passenger vehicle to date.
The Nexon has been a consistent seller for the domestic manufacturer over the past few years and is available in a wide range of variants. The Harrier
The Harrier and Safari also recorded their best-ever performance thanks to the introduction of Adventure X trims and other updates. Meanwhile, the Punch further cemented its popularity in the micro SUV segment. In Q2 FY26, Tata recorded cumulative sales of 144,397 units, up 10 percent from 130,753 units in Q2 FY25.
Domestic sales contributed 140,189 units, while exports (PV IB) jumped nearly five-fold to 4,208 units from 823 a year ago. Tata’s electric vehicle sales in domestic and international markets grew 59 percent to 24,855 units in Q2 FY26, marking the company’s best quarterly electric vehicle performance ever.
