Singer-Rapper Rahul Fazilpuria Survives Gun Attack in Gurugram, Says He Mistook Assailants for Fans
Haryanvi singer-rapper Rahul Fazilpuria, whose real name is Rahul Yadav, recently survived a shocking gun attack in Gurugram. The incident occurred on the night of July 14 when two shots were fired at his vehicle while he was driving along the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) near Badshahpur in Sector 71.
Recounting the terrifying experience in an interview with NDTV, Fazilpuria said he initially mistook the attackers for his fans. “The attack was so sudden. At first, I thought they were my fans. Then I heard two rounds of firing… I was saved as I reversed my car quickly,” he explained. Thanks to his quick reflexes, he managed to escape the scene unharmed.
The assailants fired two shots at his car, one of which reportedly struck a pole located in the divider on the road. Bullet marks were later found on the pole, confirming the account. Fazilpuria had been passing through the area when the ambush took place. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the artist managed to flee the scene without any physical harm.
The case took a dramatic turn two days later when a man named Sunil Sardhania, who is said to be a close associate of Fazilpuria, posted a video on social media claiming responsibility for the attack. In his statement, Sardhania accused Fazilpuria of financial misconduct, stating that the singer had taken ₹5 crore from music producer Deepak Nandal and had failed to return the money.
Sardhania further alleged that Indrajit Yadav, purportedly a member of the Himanshu Bhau gang, was also involved in the attack. In a chilling threat issued via social media, he warned that if Fazilpuria failed to repay the loan, one of the singer’s associates would be targeted and killed every month over the next 10 months.
These revelations have raised serious concerns over the safety of artists and public figures involved in financial disputes and the increasing involvement of criminal elements in the entertainment industry. The Gurugram police are currently investigating the incident, and further details are awaited.
Meanwhile, Rahul Fazilpuria has remained tight-lipped about the alleged loan dispute but has expressed relief at surviving the attack. Known for his popular Haryanvi songs and collaborations with major artists, the singer continues to enjoy a strong fan following in North India.
Authorities are now focusing on tracking down the individuals named in the social media confession and tightening security around the singer to prevent any further threats.
Rahul Fazilpuria Denies Involvement of Friends in Gurugram Firing Incident, Claims Threat to Life.
Haryanvi singer-rapper Rahul Fazilpuria, who narrowly escaped a gun attack in Gurugram on July 14, has denied claims made in a viral social media post that named his friends as being behind the incident. Speaking to NDTV, Rahul Fazilpuria said, “Those who have taken responsibility for the attack—Sunil Sardhania and Deepak Nandal—are my friends and have worked with me. I believe someone created a fake post using their names. I don’t even know the third person mentioned, Indrajit Yadav.”
Police sources identified Sunil Sardhania as a Rohtak resident with several criminal cases and revealed he had fled abroad in 2024 using a fake passport. His family is currently under police questioning. The second accused, Deepak Nandal, is a music producer who has collaborated with Fazilpuria and rapper Badshah on hit songs like Haryana Roadways, 2 Money Girls, and Kar Gayi Chull. One suspect, Vishal, has been arrested in connection with the firing.
Fazilpuria also said he has received multiple threats since he condemned Sidhu Moosewala’s 2022 murder. “I got threats in Lawrence Bishnoi’s name. Even after the recent firing, I received a threatening call,” he said, adding that his security was withdrawn three months ago.
He further noted that threatening artists has become a disturbing trend. Fazilpuria, who contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Gurugram on a JJP ticket, lost to BJP’s Mukesh Sharma
