The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), one of the most prominent armed nationalist groups fighting for Baloch independence, has claimed responsibility for a series of deadly attacks that have severely impacted Pakistan’s military presence in Balochistan during the first half of 2025. In a detailed statement released by the group, the BLA reported launching 284 operations over six months, resulting in the deaths of more than 668 Pakistani soldiers and 58 intelligence operatives.
According to the group, the offensive represents a major escalation in its campaign against what it calls the “occupying forces.” The attacks reportedly included 121 improvised explosive device (IED) blasts, the destruction of 131 military vehicles, and the hijacking of a logistical military train. The BLA also highlighted the execution of nine “special operations,” three of which were Fidayee (self-sacrifice) missions. Seven of the group’s 36 fallen fighters were said to have died in these missions, which the BLA described as strategic acts of resistance.

Military Installations Destroyed, Weapons Seized

The BLA claims it captured over 45 strategic locations and entirely destroyed 17 military installations. During these offensives, fighters reportedly seized more than 115 different types of weapons along with large quantities of ammunition. These seizures, the BLA asserts, have significantly disrupted Pakistan’s operational capabilities in the region.
The group emphasized that its strategy is designed not only to inflict physical damage on the Pakistani army but also to undermine its psychological and territorial control. “We have achieved ground superiority,” the BLA stated, asserting that its actions have shattered the morale of Pakistani forces stationed in Balochistan.
Escalating Resistance in a Long-Running Conflict

Balochistan, rich in natural resources but plagued by underdevelopment and state neglect, has long been the center of a separatist struggle. Groups like the BLA accuse the Pakistani state of political marginalization, exploitation of local resources, and widespread human rights violations. In response, Pakistan has conducted aggressive military crackdowns, resulting in a brutal and largely under-reported conflict that has persisted for decades.
The BLA, which has grown more structured and tactical in recent years, claims its fight is rooted in a broader movement for independence, justice, and dignity for the Baloch people. The recent surge in attacks suggests the group is entering a more coordinated and intensified phase of armed resistance.
Vows to Intensify Armed Struggle

In its latest statement, the BLA vowed to continue its campaign with enhanced planning and increased force. Declaring that Balochistan is no longer safe for the “occupying state,” the group promised to escalate its operations in the coming months.
While these claims cannot be independently verified due to restricted access to conflict zones, the scale, frequency, and impact of the reported operations point to a significant shift in the ongoing insurgency. As Pakistan faces increasing internal and external pressures, the Baloch resistance appears determined to sustain and expand its struggle for autonomy.
