Mumbai Police on high alert According to media reports, the Mumbai Traffic Control Room received a bomb threat on its official WhatsApp number on Friday, warning of planned attacks on Anant Chaturdashi.
Mumbai Police stated that the threat message alleged multiple human bombs were planted in vehicles across the city and warned of a major RDX explosion.

Police said the group, identifying itself as ‘Lashkar-e-Jihadi’, claimed that 14 Pakistani terrorists had entered India and warned that 400 kg of RDX would be used in the blast. Mumbai Police on high alert
Police added that Mumbai is on alert and security measures have been intensified across the state. “All aspects of the threat are being investigated,” officials said. The sender also claimed links to a Pakistan-based terror outfit, heightening the seriousness of the threat. Authorities have urged Mumbaikars not to fall prey to rumours and to promptly report any suspicious activity.

Mumbai is currently celebrating the 10-day Ganesh festival, with police stepping up security as lakhs of devotees are expected to gather on the city’s streets for the final day this Saturday. The bomb threat on Friday surfaced just as the festivities near their conclusion, with preparations underway for the grand Ganesh Visarjan 2025 ritual.

This year’s celebrations will culminate on Saturday, September 6, 2025, with the Ganesh Visarjan ceremony, during which idols will be immersed in water, marking the conclusion of the grand festival. Mumbai Police on high alert
All eyes will be on Lalbaugcha Raja pandal in Mumbai which has witnessed a huge footfall this year. Lalbaugcha Raja, one of Mumbai’s most iconic Ganesh idols, has been a central part of the city’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations for decades. Hosted by the Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal at Putlabai Chawl, the pandal draws lakhs of devotees each year.
The 10-day Ganeshotsav began on August 27, with Ganesh Chaturthi—also known as Vinayak Chaturthi or Vinayak Chavithi—celebrating Lord Ganesha, the deity of new beginnings and remover of obstacles. The festival concludes on Anant Chaturdashi and is marked by decorated homes and pandals, devotional prayers, music, and vibrant processions.

Reliance Industries Chairman and MD Mukesh Ambani, accompanied by Reliance Foundation Founder-Chairperson Nita Ambani, visited Lalbaugcha Raja in Mumbai on Wednesday evening to offer prayers at the iconic Ganesh pandal.
