Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, one of India’s most adored power couples, continue to charm fans with their chemistry both on and off the field. With millions of followers on social media, they are always in the public eye—especially when it comes to cricket. Whether Virat Kohli is playing in a high-stakes international match or a high-octane IPL fixture, Anushka’s supportive presence in the stands never goes unnoticed.
The couple, who tied the knot in a dreamy ceremony on December 11, 2017, have now spent over seven years together. Their wedding, held in Italy, became a social media sensation at the time, with picturesque videos and emotional vows that captivated fans across the globe. Even today, the sight of Anushka cheering for Virat Kohli stirs nostalgia and admiration among their admirers.
Naturally, with such a celebrated union, their anniversaries are just as special. One such memorable celebration took place on their second anniversary in 2019, when celebrity chef Harsh Dixit was given the opportunity to cook for the star couple. In a recent interview with The hollwood Reporter, Dixit offered a delightful behind-the-scenes look into what he prepared for the duo—and how he managed to surprise them with an unexpected twist.

“For Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s anniversary in December 2019, I made Pho, but with a twist,” Dixit shared. Known for his innovative approach to cuisine, the chef revealed that he adapted the traditional Vietnamese dish to suit the couple’s dietary preferences. Virat Kohli a dedicated vegan, and Anushka, who often follows a clean diet, were at the time also eating gluten-free.
Traditional Pho includes a rich broth made from chicken or beef, served with noodles and herbs. But Dixit created a vegan version that honored the essence of Vietnamese cuisine while staying true to their dietary needs.
“There’s usually chicken and beef in the broth,” Dixit explained. “But they were eating gluten-free at the time, so we used rice noodles, which are both traditional in Pho and gluten-free.”

The real surprise, however, came in the form of a rather quirky twist. Dixit noted that Vietnamese cuisine often features snake delicacies—ranging from snake meat to snake wine. Since his diners were vegans, he came up with a clever and playful alternative: snake gourd.
“Vietnamese cuisine includes a lot of snake—snake wine, even snake meat. So, how about serving ‘snakes’ to vegans?” he said, with a smile. The dish featured stuffed snake gourd as the centerpiece, packed with a flavorful filling of peanuts, coconut, tofu, and coriander, then smoked for added depth.
Complementing the gourd were water chestnuts, enoki mushrooms, and red chillies, all floating in a fragrant broth made from lemongrass, ginger, and coriander root. To top it off, a house-made chilli oil was served on the side for an extra kick. The dish, though inspired by tradition, was deeply personal and thoughtfully crafted—a testament to the art of private dining.
“You have to keep things interesting,” Dixit remarked. “The idea was to have fun while staying within the dietary boundaries. That’s what being a private chef is about.”
“Virat Kohli and Rohit Near 40: Is India Ready for a Transition Ahead of the 2027 World Cup?”

While Virat Kohli’s culinary preferences are well-known, his cricketing future remains a hot topic. At 36, with teammate Rohit Sharma now 38, questions are being raised about their long-term involvement in India’s ODI plans—especially with the next 50-over World Cup scheduled for 2027 in South Africa.
India’s upcoming ODI calendar includes a three-match series in Australia, followed by another at home against South Africa. Between January and July 2026, the team is also expected to play six ODIs—three at home against New Zealand and three away in England.
However, whether this limited schedule is sufficient to prepare Kohli and Rohit for a World Cup push remains uncertain. Both stars will be approaching 40 by the time the tournament rolls around.

According to a BCCI source quoted by PTI, “Yes, it will be discussed soon. We still have more than two years for the next World Cup (November 2027). Both Virat Kohli and Rohit will be pushing 40 by then, so, there has to be a clear plan ahead for the big event as our last win was in 2011.”
The source also hinted that it may be time to start integrating fresh talent into the squad. “We need to try out a few youngsters in time,” they added.

As Virat Kohli continues to inspire on the field and Anushka remains a pillar of support, their journey—both personal and professional—continues to captivate fans. Whether it’s cheering from the stands or enjoying a dish full of vegan ‘snake’, the couple sure knows how to keep things interesting.
