Jeep Cuts Prices by Up to ₹4.8 Lakh After GST 2.0 Reforms

Jeep Slashes SUV Prices After GST 2.0 Reforms

Jeep India has announced a major Jeep price cut across its SUV lineup following the central government’s rollout of GST 2.0 reforms. With revised tax slabs making vehicles more affordable, the brand has reduced prices by up to ₹4.84 lakh on its popular models, giving customers fresh incentives to consider an upgrade.

Jeep’s Big Price Drop

Among the range, the Jeep Wrangler emerges as the biggest beneficiary, with a price reduction of up to ₹4.84 lakh. The flagship Grand Cherokee has become cheaper by as much as ₹4.50 lakh, while the Compass and Meridian are now lower by ₹2.16 lakh and ₹2.47 lakh respectively. These cuts mark a significant shift, making Jeep SUVs far more competitive in their segments.

The price revisions take effect from September 22, 2025, coinciding with the nationwide implementation of GST 2.0. The updated framework has rationalized tax slabs across all passenger vehicle categories. For example, small petrol cars under four metres with engines below 1,200 cc now attract 18% GST instead of 29%. Similarly, small diesels under four metres with engines below 1.5 litres have dropped from 31% to 18%.

Midsize sedans and SUVs that were earlier taxed at 45% now fall under the 40% bracket. Large SUVs and premium vehicles, previously charged at 48–50%, are also rationalized to 40%. This restructuring particularly benefits bigger SUVs, allowing brands like Jeep to offer substantial price cuts.

Kumar Priyesh, Business Head & Director – Automotive Brands, Stellantis India, highlighted the importance of the move, saying, “The GST reform is a transformative step that brings clarity and affordability for customers. We are delighted to pass on the full benefit to our buyers, making the Jeep lifestyle more accessible than ever.”

A Timely Boost for the Auto Industry

The reforms come at a crucial juncture. Over recent years, car prices in India have steadily climbed due to rising input costs, stricter safety and emission norms, and fluctuating exchange rates. GST 2.0’s lower tax burden finally gives manufacturers breathing space and allows them to pass savings on to customers. (Jeep Cuts Price)

For buyers, this creates an opportunity to step into higher vehicle segments that may previously have been out of reach. The timing is also favorable, with the festive season around the corner—traditionally a strong period for automotive sales in India. SUVs, already accounting for the lion’s share of passenger vehicle demand, are likely to see further growth.

By transferring the full benefit of GST reforms to its customers, Jeep has strengthened its appeal not only among first-time SUV buyers but also among existing customers considering an upgrade. The brand’s aggressive pricing move could well position it to capture renewed momentum in India’s booming SUV market.
