The planned gathering was scheduled to take place on September 21 at a private farmhouse in Raipur. The event was organized by individuals connected to Hyper Club and SS Farm. However, following police action and growing public disapproval, the party was officially cancelled.

The police have not ruled out further arrests if the detained organisers and others are found to be involved in illicit activities. So far, two FIRs have been lodged against the organisers under relevant sections of the law.

Mobile phone investigations of the two primary organisers revealed that artists from Mumbai and Bangalore were also scheduled to attend the party, adding to the controversy. Organisers allegedly kept details about the venue private, sharing it only hours before the event with a select few.

The entry fee for the event was reportedly set at ₹40,000 per individual, with some couples reportedly offering as much as ₹1 lakh for entry. The high price tag and secrecy raised further questions about the true nature of the gathering.

Drug Cartel Suspicions and Illicit Links

The police suspect that the organisers may be part of a larger drug cartel supplying narcotics for use at high-profile parties. “Such parties often serve as fronts for drug abuse and other illicit activities,” said an official from the Raipur crime branch, adding that the probe would investigate these leads thoroughly.

“The preliminary investigation is focused on understanding whether the organisers were merely hosting a private party or if there was a larger criminal network involved,” said Lal Umed Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police, Raipur. “We are investigating in-depth why such a party was planned, who the persons behind it are, and under what circumstances this obscene invitation was shared on social media.”

Political and Social Backlash

The controversy rapidly attracted political criticism from various quarters. Deepak Baij, State Congress President, condemned the event, saying, “It’s shocking and shameful that a Nude Party is being organized as a social gathering for the first time in Chhattisgarh under the BJP regime.”

The State BJP, while expressing concern over the situation, distanced itself from the organisers. Shyam Behari Jaiswal, State Health Minister, said, “We are worried about the youths planning to be part of such an event. This should never be allowed in the future. The Congress should avoid politicising this sensitive issue.”

Local citizens voiced anger over what they called an attempt to import an “indecent get-together culture” from European and American trends. Many argued that such moves were contrary to Indian cultural values and posed a threat to public morality.

Strict Security Measures and Confidentiality

Authorities highlighted that extreme measures had been planned to ensure secrecy and restrict entry. Outsiders were strictly prohibited, and mobile phones were banned from the venue. Only pre-registered individuals could attend, and venue details were shared at the last moment.

Despite these measures, the invitation poster went viral, sparking outrage and forcing authorities to act swiftly. The police stressed that such parties cannot be allowed under any circumstance, especially when they promote obscenity and illegal activities.
