The victim, identified as Chinmay Ganesh Dhumde, had requested his mother, Pallavi Dhumde (40), to cook a chicken dish. Instead of fulfilling the simple demand, she flew into a rage and brutally attacked him using a rolling pin, commonly used in households for making rotis.

Not stopping there, Pallavi also assaulted her 10-year-old daughter, inflicting serious injuries. The girl was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where she is currently undergoing treatment. Doctors have confirmed her condition is stable but she remains under observation.
Neighbours Alert Police
The violent screams of the children alarmed neighbours, who quickly intervened and alerted the local authorities. Soon after, Palghar police, the local crime branch, and the sub-divisional officer rushed to the scene.
The police discovered Chinmay lying unresponsive due to the injuries inflicted by his mother. He was declared dead shortly after. His sister, though gravely injured, survived the assault thanks to the quick response of neighbours and emergency services.

Following the gruesome incident, the Palghar police registered a case of murder under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The accused mother, Pallavi Dhumde, was arrested immediately.
