In a shocking incident in Delhi‘s Nizamuddin area, Asif Qureshi, a cousin of Bollywood actor Huma Qureshi, was murdered following a heated argument over a parking space. The incident occurred late on Thursday night and has left the family and local residents stunned.
According to the police, Asif Qureshi was attacked around 10 PM when he asked two men to move their scooter, which had been parked directly outside the main entrance of his home. The minor request quickly escalated into a deadly altercation.
Shaheen Asif Qureshi, the victim’s wife, recounted the chain of events that led to her husband’s death. “At around 9:30–10 PM, one of our neighbors parked a scooter right in front of our gate,” she said. “My husband politely asked him to move it so we could access our entrance. Instead of complying, the man responded with verbal abuse and threats. He warned he would return.”
Moments later, the man came back—this time with his brother. The situation turned violent as the two men allegedly attacked Asif with a sharp weapon. “They didn’t even give him a chance,” said Shaheen. “Both of them stabbed him. I immediately called my brother-in-law Javed, but by the time he arrived, Asif was already bleeding heavily.”
The injured Asif was rushed to the National Heart Institute in East of Kailash, but doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. “The doctors told us he had already passed away nearly an hour and a half before being brought in,” Shaheen said tearfully.
Accused Arrested as Family Alleges Prior Threats in Fatal Stabbing of Asif Qureshi
The two accused have been identified as Ujjwal (19) and Gautam (18), both residents of the same locality. The police confirmed that both were arrested soon after the incident. The murder weapon has also been recovered from the crime scene.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to murder.
This is not the first time Asif had run-ins with the accused, according to his wife. “They had tried to harm him before,” she claimed. “We had even warned them to stay away from our home, but no action was taken. Now we have lost him forever.”

The tragedy has not only shaken the immediate family but also caught the attention of the larger Qureshi family. Saleem Qureshi, father of actor Huma Qureshi and a respected figure in the locality, expressed deep sorrow over the incident.
“My nephew was just trying to ensure no one blocked the entrance of our house,” Saleem Qureshi told reporters. “He asked the men to move the scooter and was brutally attacked for that. They killed him together.”
Locals in the area have also expressed concern over increasing violence in residential neighborhoods over seemingly trivial issues. “This wasn’t some big fight over money or property,” said one resident. “It was a parking issue. If someone can lose their life over something so minor, what does that say about our society today?”
The investigation is currently ongoing, and police are gathering more CCTV footage and witness statements to understand the full timeline of events. Authorities have assured the family that swift action will be taken and justice will be served.
As the Qureshi family mourns their loss, calls for stricter local enforcement and conflict resolution measures grow louder.
