Tata IPL 2026: The first match of the TATA IPL 2026 season was played at the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) kicked off their campaign on home soil, carrying the hopes of millions of passionate fans. Historically, RCB has played 96 IPL matches at their beloved home ground — the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium — winning 46 and losing 45 of them, making it one of the most evenly contested home records in IPL history.
If we look at Sunrisers Hyderabad, Ishan Kishan took over as the CAPTAIN for the first time in Tata IPL 2026. Along with this, RCB captain Rajat Patidar did the same.

Tata IPL 2026: Hyderabad LOST the toss and came out to bat with Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. If we look at their IPL careers, Travis Head has 38 matches (1146 runs) with a strike rate of 170, and Abhishek Sharma has 78 matches (1816 runs) with a strike rate of 163. The question arises: can Abhishek Sharma perform as he did against New Zealand in the ICC T20 final in the IPL? But Abhishek Sharma could not perform well in this first match of the TATA IPL 2026. He scored 7 runs in just 8 balls and fled to the pavilion in disappointment.
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s new CAPTAIN, Ishan Kishan, came in to bat at number 3. Looking at his IPL career, he played 120 matches (2998 runs) with a strike rate of 138, and he scored 50 runs in 27 balls. Ishan Kishan made a significant contribution to his team with his outstanding performance in the T20 WORLD CUP 2026.
Ishan Kishan scored 80(38), and Travis Head was out for 11(9). Nitish Kumar Reddy also did not perform well; he gave his WICKET to RCB for 1 (6). SRH’s NUMBER 4 Heinrich Klaasen came in, and if we look at his IPL career, then 50 matches (runs-1480) have a strike rate of 170. Klaasen was out for 31(22). With this, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s total score reached SRH 201/9 (20).
On the other hand, RCB needs to score 202 to win this first match of the Tata IPL 2026.
Philip Salt from RCB, whose IPL career is 35 matches (runs-1056) and strike rate is 176, is better than the world’s greatest player in Unstrike, Virat Kohli, whose IPL career is 268 matches (runs-8661) and strike rate is 133. Philip Salt’s WICKET was gone early from RCB, and he ran away to the pavilion after scoring 8 (7).
