Dubai Incident Caught on Video as Smoke Appears Near Burj Khalifa

On Thursday, explosions were heard in the downtown area of Du-bai, prompting authorities to report a “minor drone incident.” On Friday, a dense cloud of smoke was visible rising from the city’s center, and locals heard powerful explosions that shook multiple buildings once more.

A strong twin explosion, according to an Agence France-Presse (AFP) correspondent, shook surrounding buildings and produced a thick cloud of black smoke. Later, the Dubai Media Office verified that a small incident outside a building in central Dubai was caused by debris from a drone that was safely caught. No injuries were recorded, according to officials.

The Du-bai Media Office said in a post on X that although the debris from the interception damaged a portion of a building’s exterior, no one was harmed. Sirens were heard close to Sheikh Zayed Road, one of the city’s main thoroughfares, shortly after the explosions.

After the incident, authorities reportedly promptly roped off the affected area. There has allegedly been substantial damage to the building. The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), a significant corporate and financial center in the city, is where the incident happened, according to the authorities.

The Dubai Media Office stated that authorities were managing the situation in a post on X. “A small drone incident in the **Al Bada’a neighborhood is being investigated by Dubai police. The message assured the public that the issue was under control and stated, “No injuries have been reported.”

Tensions in the area are on the rise at the time of the drone incident. Iran has been connected to multiple strikes in the Persian Gulf region since the start of the Middle East crisis on February 28. According to reports, 24 individuals have perished thus far, including 11 civilians and seven U.S. service members, underscoring the conflict’s increasing influence on neighboring nations.
