After India’s stunning win, a key member of the BCCI announced that the pre-selection committee of Indian women’s cricket, headed by Neetu David, would be given a share of the award on November 3. The pre-selection committee of the Indian women’s team consisted of David, Renu Margaret, Aarti Vaidya, Sampal Venkatachar and Shyama Desh. The board considered them worthy of the award given their significant role in the Indian women’s cricket team.
Following India’s historic win, BCCI President Mithun Manhas praised the team, saying their strong resolve, skill, and unity have inspired the entire nation. He also acknowledged Neetu David’s former selection committee for their significant contribution to the team’s success. Manhas added that this remarkable victory reflects BCCI’s continued commitment and belief in developing a world-class women’s cricket structure that can compete and succeed at the highest level.
On Sunday, Harmanpreet Kaur’s Team India created history by defeating South Africa by 52 runs in the final of the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 in Navi Mumbai. The Women in Blue delivered a dominant all-round performance, posting 299 runs and bowling out South Africa for 246 in 45.3 overs.
