TVS is aggressively stepping into the adventure bike category with the launch of the all-new Apache RTX, sporting a competitive starting price of just Rs. 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
TVS Motor Company has officially launched its first adventure motorcycle, the Apache RTX, in the Indian market. The new ADV is available across three variants—Base, Top, and Built-to-Order (BTO)—with introductory ex-showroom prices ranging from a competitive Rs. 1.99 lakh up to Rs. 2.29 lakh.
The Base variant is equipped with core features like traction control, cruise control, and riding modes. Stepping up, the Top variant adds a Class D headlamp with DRLs, a bi-directional quickshifter, and a 5-inch TFT cluster with map mirroring. The flagship BTO trim further enhances the package with adjustable suspension, a brass-coated chain, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

The Apache RTX is built around TVS’s Syncro-Stiff chassis, which pairs a steel trellis frame with an aluminum die-cast swingarm for stability and agility. Its adventure credentials are backed by a healthy 200mm ground clearance and suspension handled by 41mm upside-down (USD) forks up front and a rear mono-shock. Braking power comes from a large 320mm front disc. Note that only the top-spec BTO variant offers a fully adjustable suspension system.

The adventure bike boasts a rich feature set centered around a 5-inch TFT cluster. This advanced console supports map mirroring, GoPro control, and hands-free music control. Complementing the display are standard rider aids like cruise control, adjustable levers, and dynamic headlamp control, along with the comprehensive connectivity provided by the TVS SmartXonnect app. For enhanced safety, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) is also included.
The Apache RTX is driven by a new 299.1cc DOHC liquid-cooled petrol engine (RTXD4). It produces a potent 36 PS and 28.5 Nm of peak torque, with its tuning prioritized for excellent low-end torque delivery. Rider experience is customizable via ride-by-wire technology and a selection of four distinct ride modes: Rally, Urban, Tour, and Rain.

The engine transmits power through a 6-speed gearbox, which is paired with an assist and slip clutch and a quickshifter for smooth shifting. Significantly, the manufacturer has indicated that this new engine platform will serve as the foundation for multiple upcoming models in the TVS line-up.
With the Apache RTX, TVS is aggressively targeting the adventure rally tourer segment, leveraging its rich racing pedigree. The new motorcycle is set to compete directly against key rivals in the category, including the Suzuki V-Strom SX, KTM 250 Adventure, and the Yezdi Adventure.
