Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the refreshed Thar in India, with prices starting at ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV now features subtle design tweaks, including a two-tone grille and a dual-tone bumper, while the lighting setup and 18-inch alloy wheels remain unchanged.

Buyers can pick from six color options, with Tango Red and Battleship Grey joining the lineup for the first time. Inside, the cabin adopts a more premium feel with an all-black dashboard and a redesigned steering wheel. Rear passengers now get AC vents, while the driver gains a sliding armrest and, in automatic variants, a dedicated dead pedal for added comfort.

The power window switches have been moved to the door pads, while new features like a rear camera, rear washer and wiper, and an internally operated fuel lid enhance everyday usability. Supporting the new infotainment setup are Type-C charging ports for both rows and a Tyre Direction Monitoring System. Off-road enthusiasts will also value the upgraded Adventure Stats Gen II, which records real-time data such as altitude, trip information, tyre pressure, and steering angle. Powering the SUV is the familiar 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine, delivering 150 hp and up to 320 Nm of torque, depending on the chosen transmission.
The well-known 2.2-litre mHawk diesel produces 130 hp and 300 Nm of torque, while the D117 CRDe diesel variant is tuned to deliver 117 hp and 300 Nm. Buyers can opt for either a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox, available with both rear-wheel-drive and 4×4 configurations featuring electric driveline disconnect.
