Ather overtook Ola to become the third-largest electric two-wheeler sales destination in September 2025.

The market situation saw some significant changes in September 2025, with Ather Energy overtaking Ola Electric for the first time. Ather’s overall growth has been fairly steady, but it has been closing in on Ola Electric’s third-place position for the past few months.

However, in September 2025, Bengaluru-based Ather regained the third spot, while Ola Electric slipped to fourth in two-wheeler sales. Furthermore, Ather is competing with Bajaj Auto, which currently holds the second spot. According to available vehicle sales data, Ather managed to sell over 15,000 units in September, while Ola Electric sold less than 12,000 units.

TVS Motor Company continued its dominance in electric two-wheeler sales, taking the top spot with over 20,000 units sold in September 2025. Bajaj, on the other hand, secured the second spot with sales of over 16,000 units last month.
Hero MotoCorp, with its Vida electric scooter range, is in fifth place, with sales numbers of over 11,000 units, almost equal to Ola Electric. Bajaj reportedly resolved production issues in September that had affected operations in August electric 2-wheeler. Ather Energy saw strong growth, while Hero MotoCorp surpassed the 10,000 unit mark. According to experts, Hero’s new battery-as-a-service (BaaS) option and aggressive marketing have given Vida a significant boost.

On the other hand, Ola Electric has been reporting a month-on-month decline in sales for most of this calendar year. However, in terms of total sales for the January-September 2025 period, it remains in third place with 1.6 lakh units in its portfolio, well ahead of Ather Energy’s 1.3 lakh unit figure.
