Kingdom OTT Release: Vijay Deverakonda Fans Dejected as Netflix Version Drops Key Scenes and Song

Fans eagerly awaited the OTT release of Kingdom, hoping it would finally showcase the elements missing from its theatrical version. But the Netflix release has once again left them disappointed.

The Missing Song Controversy

Gowtam Tinnanuri’s, starring Vijay Deverakonda, Satyadev, Venkitesh, and Bhagyashri Borse, hit theatres on July 31. Soon after its release, audiences began questioning why the much-loved song Hridayam Lopala was not included in the film.

The romantic track, composed by Anirudh Ravichander and featuring Vijay and Bhagyashri, had gone viral before the movie’s release. Its absence left fans, especially music lovers, disheartened.

At a press meet in Hyderabad the following day, producer Naga Vamsi addressed the issue in his trademark witty style. Lightheartedly, he asked reporters where they thought the song could have been placed in the film.

Joking further, he said many fans—particularly couples—were upset because they missed seeing Vijay in a kissing scene. However, Vamsi clarified that despite repeated attempts, the team couldn’t fit the track into the film without affecting its intensity.

“I know a lot of people felt bad, especially lovers, probably because they wanted to see Vijay Deverakonda kiss, and they missed it,” he remarked.

“We tried a lot, but we couldn’t blend it into the flow of the film. Some suggested placing it in the second half, but the 20-minute climax only works because the pace slows down before it,” he explained.

Vijay Deverakonda Fans Left Disappointed

With Kingdom finally premiering on Netflix, many fans were eager to see if the much-talked-about romantic track Hridayam Lopala had been restored in the OTT version. However, their hopes were dashed once again, as the song was missing from the digital release as well.

The disappointment didn’t end there. The Netflix cut also excluded the carnival fight sequence, which had been one of the standout action highlights in the theatrical version. For fans, both the song and the action scene were not just fillers but added layers of entertainment and depth to the film.

According to reports, these omissions were made to maintain a smoother pace and narrative flow for online audiences. Still, many viewers felt that the cuts took away some of the movie’s charm.

Despite the backlash, the buzz continues to soar. Between August 26 and 27, Google India recorded a massive spike in searches for the film, proving that audience interest remains sky-high even as debates about the missing content continue.
