New Delhi: The 71st National Film Awards were announced on Friday at the National Media Center in the capital. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw revealed the list of winners at 6 PM. The jury reviewed over 115 films across 22 languages before finalizing the nominations.
In the Hindi language category, the Best Director Award went to The first film, directed by Piyush Thakur. Meanwhile, the Best Short Film Award was bagged by Giddh The Scavenger , directed by Manish Saini.
The Silent Epidemic was the best non-feature film (71st National Film)
Let us tell you that the National Award for the Best Non Feature Film in Hindi language has been given to ‘The Silent Epidemic’. This film has been directed by Akshat Gupta. This film addresses road accidents and civil awareness. The Best Documentary Award has been given to ‘God Vulture and Human’. This documentary has been directed by Rishiraj Agarwal. The Best Arts/Culture Film Award has been given to the Timeless Tamil Nadu film. It has been made in English language and was directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh. The Best Biographical Film Award has been given to the Oriya language film Ma Bou Mo Gaan (Meri Maa Mera Gaon). This film has been directed by Sanjeev Prasar.
